Certification Process


New Officials

1. Complete the Hockey Canada Learning Lab:

2. If you're over 18 years of age, you need a current Criminal Record Check:

https://www.bchockey.net/member-info/applications/criminal-record-check (BC Hockey pays for this)

3. Complete an in-person clinic. 

CMVHA held its 2026-27 in-person clinic September 18, 2026. 

Anyone interested in joining as a new official for the 2026-27 season may be able to attend a clinic at another association. Please check out https://page.spordle.com/bch/clinics and email ric@cvmha.ca if you have any questions.

4. Complete the on-ice training session.

Most associations will hold an on-ice training session alongside their in-person clinic. If you need to attend an on-ice session, please email ric@cvmha.ca.


Recertification

Information about recertification can be found on the BC Hockey website here.

CVMHA expects to host a recertification clinic in October 2026. More information to come soon.
